feeling guilty about neglecting the baby food blog

Well, three months passes quickly doesn't it? In that time we have continued to add more baby food to the Kiddies Kitchen baby food delivery service website. Our new favourites are the Holle cereals ranges and, of course, humzingers fruit sticks (of which our kids can eat their own weight in one sitting).

Not only are all the holle cereals organic and biodynamic some are gluten free, and all are great as a a dairy free baby food base. Smooth and wholesome they will give your baby a great start in life

organic baby food - the times

The time online posted an interesting article on organic baby food and the pros, and potential cons of ready made baby food. Of course I have to declare an interest as we sell all the major organic baby food brands, but it was nice to read an article that had a balanced view of some of the benefits of the closely regulated baby food market in the UK. You can read the article here

The one omission from the article was to add that you can buy organic baby food at supermarket prices from the kiddies kitchen baby food delivery service and have it delivered to your door!

Our current favourites include Organix, Plum baby and Ella's Kitchen Baby foods....check them out on www.kiddieskitchen.co.uk. For older kids why not check out our specialist lunchboxes site www.lunchboxesetc.co.uk.

New products - burroughs frozen baby food

We were approached by Tom Burroughs shortly after he launched his new frozen organic baby food company. As soon as we tasted some of his recipes we were eager to stock his products and they are now available on the site. To begin with we are offering a sampler hamper containing at least one of each of the delicious recipes Tom has devised for babies aged 6 months or more. You can read more about the hamper on our frozen baby food pages at the Kiddies Kitchen organic baby food site.

Tom's range of baby food is a great complement to our existing ranges from Truuly Scrumptious, Miniscoff and Juniorganics. Frozen baby food is not heated to the very high levels that jarred food is (no pasteurisation is required) thus leaving both texture and taste more like thast of homecooked baby food. Tyrit once and you'll never go back!

Just back off holiday - back in the shop and bigging up Miniscoff meals

I'm back in the shop again after a well deserved (i think) break. The family went to center parcs at Sherwood Forest and I have to say it was excellent. What a pleasure it was to be able to eat out with the family at restaurants that not only had highchairs and proper childrens options but also had some of the best play facilities we'd seen actually in the restaurants...

Incidentally I noticed that several of the restaurants on the site we offering a selection of organic childrens meals and I'm pleased to say that Kiddies Kitchen stock frozen ready meals for children from the same supplier: Miniscoff. Whilst our kids will try anything (once at least) it was good to know that they would have a chance to have a familiar tasting meal at least once in the week and there is nothing like seeing Nathan (16 months) eat his way through and entire plate of chilli and rice in about three minutes flat and then demand more! Well done Angus and everyone at miniscoff for producing such tasty meals and well done for getting quality food into places like center parcs!

Kiddies Kitchen sell the entire range of miniscoff frozen meals and they can be ordered on the website for home delivery. The meals will arrive in perfect frozen condition to your house on a convenient day (arranged with you prior to delivery). Its a really simple way to restock the freezer with emergency meals for days when you are too busy to cook from fresh. With 9 recipes to choose from there is sure to be something to whet even the fussiest of children's appetites!

New products - Ella's Kitchen Organic Pasta Sauces

Here we are again, it seems like every week I'm posting about another new Ella's Kitchen Organic Baby Food product -how busy must Ella's dad and his chefs be?

Anyway this time we are announcing the arrival of 2 new organic pasta sauces for babies:

The American one is a delicious 100% organic blend of pumpkin, tomatoes and sweetcorn with orange juice and lemon juice and a hint of garlic. According to Ella's dad its great squeezed over pasta, rice or meat and fish. Personally we made a very very tasty muffin pizza for our 15 month old using an organic english muffin, a squeeze of the Ella's Kitchen American One as the topping and a sprinkle of chopped ham and grated cheese before grilling it for a few minutes. MMMMmmmm tasty!

The Indian one is an equally delicious, lightly spiced (but not hot) indian sauce that again can be aqueezed over pretty much anything you want - we are going to experiment with a fish curry (think Goa but without the mopeds) and I'll let you know the verdict from the man in the highchair in a couple of days.

We are still waiting for deliveries of the Italian One to arrive but that will also be on the Kiddies Kitchen site before long.

Each of the Ella's Kitchen pasta sauces is available from our Organic baby food shop in Tavistock Devon or online from http://www.kiddieskitchen.co.uk/

New products - Ella's Kitchen Organic Baby Foods

Well, Ella's dad has been busy in his kitchen and come up with not 1 but 4 new Ella's Kitchen Organic baby food varieties. Packed in their trademark squeezy puches the new flavours are:

Strawberries and apples,

We love Ella's Kitchen pouches for their convenience and we love the fact that their food is made from real organic fruit and veg - not concentrates or juices. We are delighted to be among the very first to be able to offer these Ella's Kitchen varieties via mail order and in our specialist organic baby food shop in Tavistock.

By the way there is also a new smoothie called the green one which is also now available from stock at Kiddies Kitchen.
